—Australian Embassy Announced as Honorary Patron for Utracone Exhibition in Kraków, Poland

Kraków, Poland – We are delighted to announce that the Australian Embassy will serve as the honorary patron for the “Utracone” exhibition at Galeria Podbrzezie in Kraków. This prestigious art event, showcasing the dynamic multimedia installation exploring the pillaging of artwork during wartime and colonization, has garnered international significance and attention. Having the Australian Embassy as an honorary patron underscores the importance of governments’ support for the arts, particularly those with global impact.

The Australian Ambassador to Poland, Mr. Lloyd Brodrick, will be attending a private viewing of the “Utracone” exhibition. Mr. Brodrick is a distinguished senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, bringing a wealth of experience and diplomatic expertise to the occasion. His background includes serving as Acting Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in Baghdad, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in The Hague, and Counsellor at the Australian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva.

As an advocate for the arts, Mr. Brodrick’s presence at the private viewing signifies the commitment of the Australian Embassy to supporting culturally significant events and fostering international artistic dialogue.

“It is an honor to have the Australian Embassy as our honorary patron for the ‘Utracone’ exhibition,” said Dorota Mytych, curator. “This support highlights the crucial role that governments play in championing the arts, especially those with global significance.”

Galeria Podbrzezie is proud to present “Utracone,” a compelling exploration of the impact of art pillaging on cultural heritage. This multimedia installation celebrates the transformative power of art and reflects on the resilience of creativity amid historical challenges.

The private viewing with Mr. Lloyd Brodrick and other distinguished guests will be an exclusive occasion, underscoring the cultural significance and international collaboration in the “Utracone” project.
